Hi - sorry for invading this blog but it seems a shame to note that Choiefat is not the only crap hole in town. Al Ain English Speaking School is also down there where good teachers have left.

Heard the latest? The new secondary head has been in town more than a week and has still emerged from the Hilton, I believe she has of course not been presented to the dwindling pissed off staff despite the fanfare of arrival made to the parents.

What does it take to run an English School - well looked after teachers, that's easy isn't it? Most are happy not to be in England.

No, the incompetent useless fool doing Principal impersonations has no recent secondary experience - and no SMT experience either. He is the epitome of the thick northern copper he once was. He is neither a manager nor a teacher. He is out of his depth dealing with people who know more than him professionally.

The primary head rose to Key Stage 1 coordinator in Thailand. She too is way out of her depth and clearly unqualified to handle professional people with more ability, skill and experience than she has.

She, like the 'principal' has lost the staffroom and has the hump because the new secondary head is on a better package which she deserves on merit if you believe the blurb.

Anyway the useless RR, was fat with the former head who got sacked, rightly so, for alleged misappropriation of funds and of course distanced herself when he fell.

Awful people ruining the lives of decent professionals and stiffing the education of the pupils - Only one candidate for A level and any expats after about yr 10 are sent home to have the chance of getting an education.

The bloggers, who mainly used TES online, have succumbed to threats and gone quiet despite setting up a since deleted blog like this.

Thanks for that chewwies and good luck with your own site.

The Truth of Choueifat International Schools

I am writing about my experiences as a Choueifat. I have worked at a number of schools in several different countries. I have been looking back on my whole experience and feel driven to share my experiences. Anyone who is even considering becoming part of Choueifat/SABIS must to be forewarned. They are continually looking for teachers because they have extremely LOW retention rates. Their sole aim is financial gain at any cost.

They proclaim to care about staff. This is the boldest face lie any human could ever encounter. They do not treat staff with any human decency, but instead bully, blaming for them for every short fall of the schools practice. Choueifat/SABIS employees people whose main duty it to spy and report back to the higher up in power. They call them “supervisors” who are supposed to be monitoring the children’s behave, but is only a small part of their job. They encourage students to engage in this behavior as well, not only reporting on other students, but teachers as well. Choueifat/SABIS does not believe teachers should deal with classroom discipline because teachers are incapable of this.

Choueifat/SABIS discriminates based on nationality and bases pay dependant on where a employees comes from despite the fact the living cost the employee is working in is the same in a country whether one is from Ireland or from Egypt. There are no standardized employee policies and procedures, but vary from person to person. The organization is run by mainly Lebanese, with rigid outdated ideas about education and curriculum delivery.

Choueifat/SABIS claims to take a holistic approach to education. This is one of the biggest lies out there. They utilized a very draconian method which focuses on one type of learning style. They utilize a whole class teaching methodology which believes classes does not matter. They use the points methods which is based on the belief, though it has never been proven by academic research study, which claims every child can learn every concept at the sometime with one form of presentation. There is no deviation from the Choueifat/SABIS curriculum. Teachers are given s set amount of topics which must be covered weekly despite the fact that some students fall behind and others are not challenged and loose interest. Constant examinations are given which causes memorization of information, but lack the development of critical thinking skills. Teaching methodologies do not support or even develop the research or studies skills student need to be successful when studying at Universities. And god forbid, a student has a learning disability or other need which requires additional support service. I have heard first hand from a “top administer” that such things may exist, but the cost of employing school psychologist or teachers with training in special education is not cost effective.

And when children are not successful the Choueifat/SABIS the child is labeled as stupid or lazy when in fact the child most possibility would be successful if provided the learning supports and opportunities which are available in most western nations. The number of students who have been permanently emotionally and psychologically traumatized by this is system is shocking.

This is a warning to both parents and teachers alike. DO NOT GET INVOLVED in this organization unless you are willing to compromise your integrity and basic humanity. Do not allow the administration to deceive you into their lies and deceit.

The regional director of SABIS in the Middle East is man on the edge. He is ruthless, underhand and an utter meglo-maniac. He has single-handedly ruined so many people's lives. He is a liar, fraud and a cheat of epic proportions. His sole goal in life is to exert his power. I have analyzed his behaviour and he has , without doubt, psychotic episodes. If you are reading this Mr. Germ, make sure you realize that your days are soon to be numbered. How you sleep at night is a mystery! Your ramblings and idiotic soundbites are just that...ridiculous. Nobody in the organization believes anything you say. You are the epitome of an asshole. Commonly referred to as the " Lebanese Mafia ". The only difference is that the real Casa Nostra is a capable, highly-organized organization while Choueifat schools are run by moronic dumb ass people. I cannot believe that you are so blind not to see the eventual writing on the wall. I do have one consolation and that is that Lebanon is a place where dogs come from and it is a place where you truly belong. One of the most corrupt countries in the world. You reap what you sew.
When you pass away the world will be a much better place.

Hi, I'm really shocked and surprised with these facts as i planned to move my two kids out from their current school to Choiefat in Sharja. the main reason is basically the educational system and propaganda you hear around. So let me understand this as it makes me worried and would like to hear the truth. The school is very expensive compared to other schools yet they are stuffing the kids’ brain with so many exams and if he fails they call him stupid or lazy!!! The points system is not focusing on the child specific needs it focuses on the whole class yet it’s another thing that does not serve the purpose of EDUCATING and preparing children for future. I've seen all the pictures and college acceptance for students, and i was impressed when seeing one accepted in MIT while you say their system does not provide the actual basis for healthy education. The circular is not so unique and hard to be understood and the students will suffer.
Can you please let me know if I need to proceed in moving the children or shall I look into something else?

Read what others have written. Even in this posting a student states “ I have been attending Choueifat for about 14 years now. With each passing day, a little piece of me dies inside. There are so many horrors, I can not even recall them all.”“Each Tuesday, I seriously ponder throwing myself under a car.”
Does that sound like a happy student to you?
The truth is clearly layed out in several of the comments and postings of this blog and this isn’t the only sight. Read the comments that one poster shared from a private school review page.

SABIS needs to change their attitude towards teachers and student discipline. SABIS has no respect for teachers. They have no concept of how to hold students accountable for their actions when it comes to rude and disruptive behavior in the school. How can a teacher be successful when they are verbally abused by administration and physically abuse by the students? The level of parent involvement does not exist. Parents have to go through many channels to speak with staff to get answers or even ask a question. On a scale of 1 to 10 parent involvement is scaled at -7

Sabis International school is an absolute joke. Business is what is all about. They do not care about the education of a child. They concentrate on how much money they can make. The teacher turn-over is worrying. The management of all SABIS schools is a disaster.
Submitted by Jonathan Davies, a teacher

They hire inexperienced, teachers who lack educational degrees. The turn over is very high. The utilize supervisors to torment both teachers and students. ISC/SABIS is a business. Their major concern is $$$ and not your child’s education. Save you money and your child’s mental health and self esteem. Leaning isn’t suppose to cause emotional trauma and damage. If you as a parent love your child or children do not place them in a educational setting which will cause long term emotional damage. Or cause them to hate learning and school.

First of all, I was amazed at the comments I have read about Choueifat. My child who is due to graduate soon, had been telling me for the past several years all the things that I read from these comments. As a parent, I was Skeptical at first when after 1 month of her being in Choueifat she was complaining. About everything! The tests, the administration, the lack of organization, etc etc. The list just goes on. I thought well, maybe she just has to get used to this rigorous system. I put her in Choueifat because I was told that this was the premier school in the Middle East and I wanted her to have a better advantage to get excepted into University. I watched a very bright, focused, determined young lady become a person that dreaded going to school every single day. She was constantly being reprimended for standing up for herself, and hence got labeled as a bad kid in some ways because she had an individual opinion that was separate from what the school demanded her to think. I watched teachers as well as people in administration pretend to be on her side when she brought up injustice going on in her school, but when confronted swear that they never ever backed her. Then behind the school, they would call my daughter or speak privately to her and say they had no choice but to back the school. When she asked why they said they could not say. And would promptly walk away. In the several years at Choueifat she has gone through more then 8 math teachers, with the majority of them leaving this year (5 total). Her class failed the math final (yes the whole class) in term 2 and when I questioned the school why they simply said the whole class would be getting a retake because the class was extremely hard. She lost also teachers in several other subjects and at 1 point didn't even have a history teacher for almost a whole semester. I have paid out more then 3000.00 JD in the past several years for math tutors alone! And the ironic thing last year was that her math teacher whom was brilliant was the tutor she had because he was forced to teach at a speed that did not allow the students to learn and retain the information. He taught many of the other students as well! He has since quit because being a good teacher, his conscience did not allow him to let a student leave his class with out obtaining the knowledge he was supposed to be instilling in his students. And the school, when he complained that he could not teach them at this rate said he was on a time frame and he had to follow it no matter what. He opted to tutor her because she really wanted to learn and he did not want her to fall behind! Now she tells me, that 1 of the students that is ready to graduate is being told that she will not be able to give the graduation speech at her school because she had joined a Facebook group against Choueifat! And the girl has never ever even posted on the group that she joined. Along with the fact that more then 50 students current and previous students are on the same groups. But this is the only person that got reprimended! Apparantly because the young lady had a reputation for standing up for herself, as well as fighting for her rights is being told also that she might not be able to graduate! They are using the excuse that because she got caught drinking 1 time at the beginning of last year that this is the reason why she can not do the speech. And BTW it was not on school property, it was away from school. Apparantly she was told that they have "spies" all over the place watching every move the kids at her school make. But the speech initially was given to the young lady even though she had gotten reprimanded for this last year! She was told that she was the best for the speech. From what I understand, this was an isolated incident with the young lady and she was punished by the parents and the school. Now my daughter who is a bright young lady has turned into a person afraid to stand up for herself for fear of not being able to graduate! Because she doesn't want to end up like the other girl! Btw the other girl is an emotional wreck, and I was told by fellow students that she is crying herself to sleep at the thought of not being able to graduate. And on top of all this, one of the people in administration, when she broke down into an emotional wreck when she was told the speech was being taken from her, told her that she was going to take her shoe off and slap her in the face. The young lady was apparently just trying to defend herself and was sooo upset at the thought of not being able to go to graduation and not doing the speech that she worked so hard on! I never in my wildest dreams could ever imagine that this was the type of school I was putting my daughter in! I was told that this school was the best of the best and that it would surely get my child accepted into UNI. Yes she did get accepted into a good uni but the shear emotional havoc this system has wrecked on my child as well as the countless others will probably take years for them to get over! And she passed because she is very smart and because I was able to afford an ungodly amount of money for tutoring outside of the school to make sure she was able to make the grade! I personally do not blame any student for hating Choueifat and I don't blame the "good" teachers for quiting! Now I wonder, how many of the teachers at my daughters school are really acreditted teachers! Does anyone have a way for me as a parent to find this out? I have spent so much money for my child to get a good education and all she ended up was becoming an emotional wreck! If anyone can help me find this info out I would greatly appreciate it!I am appalled and dismayed that in this day and age we have a school like this! And also, the web sight for this school with other Choueifat schools, I'm sure, lies about what they have at their school and offer the student! So any info anyone might have would be really appreciated. As a parent who loves my child I am not willing to let any of this go. I will fight for the rights of my child and the many others who have or will be following in her footsteps!
Sincerely,
A VERY CONCERNED CHOUEIFAT PARENT

The Choueifat / SABIS / Intered Group

The underlining trend in all Choueifat/SABIS schools is to extort as much money as possible from parents and to use and abuse their staff. Here in the UAE their expansion plans are in full-swing. The Emiratis (some have shares in their schools) are paying huge amounts of money for a tenth rate education system which is akin to fifteenth century education in the rest of the world..

I was one of the many unfortunate souls who was conned by their HR department. I am an experienced teacher with over 10 years teaching experience in the UK/Europe with a Masters degree. Yet, they still hoodwinked me into signing a contract. You actually cannot believe such a system exists as it is so alien from anything modern or I dare to say "normal" out there. It is the idea ( so he maintains) of the owner who is, to put it frankly, a psychotic dictator.

In retrospect I should have thoroughly researched this underhand and ruthless company before signing anything. But they have groups of people writing propaganda constantly on various websites so that a rosy picture is painted. They have even changed various entries on Wikipedia in order to disguise the truth. How long can they massage the truth? How long can they abuse children and staff in such a flagrant manner? The answer is as long as they want. Here in the UAE they have what is commonly referred to as "wasta" or "connections." At the moment they are untouchable, but things can change. They can be in with the Sheikh one minute and out the next. I am biding my time, waiting to see them fall.

The owners are Lebanese with an outdated and antiquated view of the world. They are proud of their business practices as they make a lot of money by conning innocent people. In fact, in all their decrepit schools, groups of "Lebanese Mafia" patrol reporting on teachers. If you are not Lebanese then watch out! You see, in their culture, anyone who is not Lebanese cannot be trusted. Most Westerners who work for Choueifat complain bitterly about the bullying from these types. Spying on your lessons and reporting back to the Principal.

The school I worked for, there are many teachers who were not even degree qualified running back like weasels to report on anyone or anything. In Lebanon, this is the way they survive. They wonder why their country is such a mess! As you can imagine most teachers of any caliber leave for pastures new. Some stay, usually the Eastern Europeans or people who cannot find jobs anywhere else. They do not stay because of loyalty or because they like the system. They stay out of desperation. I feel so sorry for the people still working in my old school. They do not realize how much of their lives they are wasting working for this organization.

I worked in one of their Middle East branches. The Regional director is a total and utter megalomaniac. He knows everyone hates him, yet he thrives of making people's lives a misery. He espouses that he knows important and well-connected people. This is so Lebanese, "talk the talk" and nothing more. They made a DVD showing his guide to a "perfect" lesson. I have never seen anything like it in my entire life. If this man considers his style of teaching to be a model, then Ill eat my hat. He is an utter joke. Like all dictators he will eventually fall, but how many people will he destroy in the meantime. The world has gone mad to even listen to people like him. In the west he would be utterly decimated by educators. The Middle East really needs as shake up.

The SABIS group of companies is a rat maze with rats at the top. Mr B. (Lebanese) and L SAAD (Lebanese). They deliberately ingratiate themselves with high-rollers, usually (gullible and innocent) Emiratis who bank roll their schools. They have taken a substantial loan from the "World Bank" to subsidize their expansion plans in Lebanon. I wonder if all of the 10 million dollars went on one school in Beirut? Call me skeptical but can one school cost more then 18 million dollars!! They were recently given a damming report about their management practices in the USA. Penguin books have sued them for plagiarism. The list continues, yet their schools continue to grow! How can this be? As with most criminal organizations they rely on other people's money to fund their lifestyles.

Their reputation here in the UAE is good. You see they "talk the talk" and lets face it, the Middle East is at least twenty years behind the rest of the world. However, that does not give SABIS the right to ruin student's lives. They are constantly boasting how so many of their students attend the best universities in the world. This is utter nonsense. This is good marketing but not factual. Even some of their teachers do not even have a university degree. Some were just technicians but are now teaching English. Some are retirees bored at home. Some are students on a working holiday. Some are alcoholics and some have even passed a security clearance. Does SABIS even know if there are any criminals working in their organization (apart from themselves) ? The answer is "No", because they do not conduct a security clearance for any of their staff.

In conclusion, I blame myself for signing a contract and being conned. I should have known better. But anyone even tempted in working for them should at least have a balanced picture. I cannot honestly say anything positive about this organization as I would be telling a lie. Good luck if you have accepted a position with them. Bad luck if you stay working for them. Do not under any circumstances work for SABIS "Military School", it's the worst of all their schools.

Concerned Parent;
Ask for copies of the teachers resumes and university transcripts. If they say they can not provide them for you ask why not. Or better yet ask the teachers where they went to university and what their major was.

Thanks for the tip on finding out if the teachers are actually accredited. Well, the news is that no matter what happens I have made it clear to the school that no one better block my daughter from graduating or any one else for that matter. When her diploma is in her hand I will be on the phone contacting the news media in the states(specifically A Dr. Phil McGraw)to start a full blown investigation into the "Sabis Inc." system! After everything that I saw my poor daughter go through along with many of her classmates, I feel obligated to bring all of these horrible facts to light. And God willing it will be brought to light and it will educate the unknowing parents (like myself) along with the unknowing teachers that fall for the load of crap that Sabis sells them. It is high time that Sabis be held accountable for the damage they have done to soooo many people! It is great that yes we can post here but we need to do more then just post about the crap that these Sabis schools have done to our kids. We need to take action and DO SOMETHING! And I am willing and obligated to be the person to do just that! If anyone cares to join my fight post here with a link to get in touch with you..Together we stand, divided we fall. Thank you

Response to parent posting.

If you saw the negative changes in your daughter, which you have mentioned, previously, why in the world would you continue to send your child to a Choueifat/SABIS school? You had years to do something about this and yet you did nothing. Don’t you think it is a bit late to start a fight after the fact, just because you feel guilt over having left your daughter to defend herself against a system which is clearly screwed up and causing damage to her?
And unless your child is attending a Choueifat/SABIS school in America, why in the world would Dr Phil, who is a psychologist and not an investigative journalist, have any desire to be involved in such a program?
If you serious about bring the truth to light than start a letter writing campaign to the Ministry or Department of Education in your country. In addition to that, have continual and ongoing contact with your governmental leaders until your voice is heard. Go to your local media whether that is newspapers, online reporting, and local news reporting agencies and share your story.
You want people to work with you on this issue than find a way to bring them together in a more open forum. I am sure that you would have no issue asking your daughter which other students feel as horrible as she does. Contact those students’ families and express your concern. If they agree with you encourage them to assist you in the letter writing campaign and contacting local forms of news agencies and governmental officials.
I think this blog is used by many to share with others just how messed up the system is. The teachers are not going to be able to change the way Choueifat/SABIS operates. Only parents and governmental officials have the power to do that because that is where the money comes from.
While we can all agree we are dealing with some messed up individuals, who own, operate and administer the school, even they could not possibly ignore the demands of those people who line their pockets with money. And if they are that messed up, rigid, and unwilling to change, than Choueifat/SABIS will fail.

Parent, have you ever asked them WHY they loose teachers at such a high rate while other schools do not? They can not even keep teachers who are not trained in education. So of course you going to be lucky to find 1 out of 100 teachers with a degree or background in Education or whatever subject they are teaching.

Well first of all, my daughter, who was miserable for the last 2 years did complain 2 me about the bad things going on. But, as many have posted before me, parents sometimes do not see the forest for the trees. And because by the time I did start doing the investigating of this school, it was already time for her to graduate. And yes I did talk to other kids that are having the same problems, and asked to speak to there parents but the parents of these kids, which make up many of the wealthy elite her are not willing to do anything about the problems in this school. So it basically has fallen on deaf ears. Also, with my daughter graduating in a few short weeks, I do not want ANYTHING to stand in the way of her chances of receiving her diploma. Once the diploma is in hr hand and I know that she is safely out of the hands of Choueifet, then yes I am going to report the school to the Minestry of education her. I am due to leave back 2 the states 5 days after she graduates, so syaing here and fighting on this end is not feasable for me and my daughter. Once I do get back to the states, I will contact Doctor Phil, not because he is a psychologist, but because he has an uncanny way of uncovering the truth through his investigative endeavors, and with the team of people he employs. So, maybe you think the best could be done on this end, but it will take The Mininstry here along with the investigative endeavors of someone like Doctor Phil, to expose the corruption in Sabis /Choueifat. And because of the fact that a show like Doctor Phil is seen in the states as well as here and all over the world, exposing Sabis on national television will hit all areas of Choueifat. Do you think the schools in America that are charter shcools are not having the same problems as the ones here? Go to ask.com. Type in sabis/chouefat and read what parents and kids and teachers are saying in Minneapolis, Michigan and any of the other schools. Arabic people in general with no disrespect to the culture, tend to not be as vocal about things of this nature. This was evident when I approached the parents of these kids. They feel that if the kid made it through the school and is graduating that its a done deal and let it be. Do I feel guilty for putting my daughter in this school? Well, guilty is not the word I would use. Angry that I did not investigate the school enough, thats more what I feel. The problems, I felt, in the beginning were just growing pains that my daughter was feeling, being in a totally different enviroment then she was in the states. And my daughter, she will be okay because she has a mother that loves her, and through all her struggles has been here for her. And she agrees totally with the way we are handling it. She wants to get her diploma and get the hell out. Are stradegy maybe is not the one you would take, but given the fact that I am leaving for the states, and can not stay hear to fight on this end I will fight the best way I can in America. I'm sorry if you do not agree with the way I am handling things, but in the end when the truth does come out, and it will, then it doesn't really matter how it was done as long as something was done. Don't you agree? It was an eye opening experience to say the least and it has made me a smarter parent none the less. I just thank God that it was only 2 years. And my daughter, has handled it with more grace and dignity then half the people that have suffered before her. So this makes me very proud of the young woman she has become.

I would like to make one other comment, which is yes i did ask the school why they had such a high teacher turnover, and the school could not give me an answer. This is when I started digging. And unfortunately it took awhile because Sabis has an uncanny way of covering everything up. In the beginning, i was hitting alot of dead ends. It took the better part of 4-5 months to even get the information I obtained, to be able to do something about it. And as I stated since she is due to graduate soon, it is my best interests for the sake of my child, to do something about it AFTER she receives her diploma. One other thing I might point out, is that the Middle East is 20 years behind the states in so many ways so why would I just choose to fight on this end? If I want to accomplish anything, it has to be done in a country where they take education seriously. Yes there are many good schools here, and yes maybe it is harder because in some ways schools are more rigourus and advanced her, but they are also backwards in the way they think concerning there kids. I came here wanting to give my child a better education, not realizing what this school was like. I was told by so many people that this school was wonderful. So how can I fight here when people do not even listen to there kids complaints and take them seriously? Wouldn't be better to fight globally, so everyone can benefit? As long as the job gets done and they are exposed, and the parents here and in America can see Dr. Phil's, broadcast then at the end of it all they will be forced to see the truth don't you think?

Desert Bus Crash Debacle

I write this message to all those who think that SABIS, as I once have thought, was their dream come true. Today, I believe, as I count the minutes and the hours to enclose a day, that it is a nightmare and a catastrophe that has been plagued unto each one that has worked or has been accepted to work with such a filthy, low, pathetic unfortunately international school.

It is such a pity to see that these people, with their nasty propaganda about SABIS, treat people from their own country worse than they treat westerners. Maybe this is the way it works in UAE; but I mean we come from the same country; don't you even have the decency to treat me like a human being? Be honest with me and tell me that I was going to live in hell for 11 months and I might have considered it! Anyways I am passed beyond their sleazy, brutal, inhuman incidents of which I got used to; and now, changing to a normal school, people see that I was truly affected by their vicious treatments!!

Please consider the following a warning story that might not happen everyday, but the way they dealt with the situation was merely to protect their company's reputation.

Of the many stories that I now want to delete from my life-experience here in the gulf with this shitty school, is a very tragic and devastating experience that has affected the lives of many teachers as well as administrators working for them. Here is how it goes:

On a clear Wednesday morning, a bus driving to the deserted desert area where we work, was at a regular speed when one of the trucks on the highway trying to overlap in lanes, crashed into it. The truck hit the SABIS bus on the side and left all the bus crashed with only a few that was not severely injured! As another bus, also for SABIS drove up on the same high way, they met with the crashed bus. Because the ambulance was late, the injured people were taken up to the other bus. The people on the other bus were shouting, I mean seeing all their co-workers covered with blood and crying out of shock and pain, I wouldn't envy them on the sight of their life!!!

The ambulance arrived to the worst hospital ever; I mean if you went there alive, you would come out surely dead! The project manager along with his Miss assistant arrived to the hospital after 8 hours, although the road takes only 2 hours. They showed concern and help to all, as if they really care! Putting on the fake caring faces with their fake caring smiles, they displayed a very hospitable play in the middle of the horrible cases!

One of the most severely injured people was the lady sitting next to the driver in the passenger's seat. Her whole body was covered with blood. She was under surgery for 5 hours to try to fix her disfigured face. Another teacher had her leg cut and her face and hand bruised. The lady sitting behind the passenger's seat had her shoulder dislocated, her head cut, along with the many deep cuts in her body! Supposedly her arm needed immediate surgery. Two days later, she went back to her country to undergo surgery for it. The woman sitting behind the driver suffered from a broken nose and a bruised chest. One teacher broke her nose, another had her face cut. The least injured had bruises all over their body. So, you can imagine the intensity of the accident!

This left behind people who were affected mentally, physically, emotionally and of course, people who started to refuse the idea of taking the bus to school everyday!

Now, moving some of the patient to a hospital in Abou Dhabi, the project manager and his Miss assistant were so nice, caring enough to visit everyday, and helpful in every single way! I mean they sent the patients to the hospital without the clearance papers or any police reports! So, the patients had to stay somewhere until the papers were sent the next day. Westerners, frightened that they would complain about SABIS, had a room booked for them in the finest hotels. While the other patients had to find a place to sleep for the night!

"Get well soon" cards and Chocolate boxes were sent to everyone involved in that accident, as if that would cover up the mess they were in, or even fake smiles they had on to ensure everything was going smoothly. But in fact, it wasn't!

The bus that the staff was riding was in a bad condition; considering the wheels and the breaks, that accident was bound to happen! So, I donât think the cleavage short dresses that bring your breasts out, or even the tender loving look in your eyes, not even your sweet caring voice, or your fake assuring smiles would get you out of this shit, and God please answer my prayers!

I just wonder about these innocent people, my colleagues, that have lived this accident, that have suffered from nightmares to severe physical pain the middle of the nights, do they also have to pay for this company's indifference? Already living in a desert and not getting any desert allowances, do they really have to call the next day of the accident and check for attendance? I mean, give these people a break! Even those who were not in the accident still experience nightmares of blood and accidents. Wouldn't they at least consider giving these people a break from work? I guess not. The show must go on!

I do understand that there was nothing else to do, but I mean wouldnât you even consider the numerous emails that were sent about the buses and how dangerous their trips were? Wouldn't you even take into account the condition of the bus that holds the lives of these people everyday coming and going to school? I donât blame them, because if they werenât like that, they wouldnât have pulled off this scam on the government claiming their highly standardized system that would educate the emirates' childrenâ..it is true that they are Lebanese, but I assure you that they are the scum of the Lebanese society, the people with no ethical values, no morals, and no sense of honor, of which we call "bastards" in Lebanon!

The never-ending lies, the on-going deceptions, the covering up for their shit, and much much more! You would just get sick of all this, that you would feel numb at the end. Again, I write this message out of concern and advice to anyone who wants to join this school, which they would take my word as a person who has suffered from all of the above, and all this still goes on until the last day! They would try their best to ruin your privacy, your own opinion, your own creativity, your potentials and your will to go on!

So, if you're there, try your best to get out, and if you're not, then donât make the mistake of your life! I personally thank God I worked for this company for they have opened my eyes to the brutal world out there, the worst people you can ever deal with. I would personally thank SABIS, and their staff, and all the people that work with them in a committed way, for they have showed me what deception means, how people can be filthy monsters, sleazy scumbags, dishonest savages, duplicitous and negative in their work to even make u think that you're the one who is abnormal and dishonored, where in fact, they are!!

A REAL EDUCATED TEACHER

First my dear student please know that most of the teachers at ISC/SABIS are disgusted by the treatment of our student of the living hell. It is one of the reasons why most teachers leave after the first year. I worked there for less than six months and left because I was so appalled. I am one of those rare teachers who have a degree in Education and am credentialed to teach in New York State, Mississippi, West Virginia and Alabama. In fact, I have taught for several years and have never in my life seen such madness or conditions. I spent fives years working for a district that is ranks as one of the worst schools systems in America. I naively thought that it was one of the worst systems in the world. But, after working for I came to understand what horrible and damaging system is.
I have often heard people who support Choiefat/SABIS make statements such as” if it is such a horrible system why don’t you bring it to the attention the administration? Well I did make several attempts so do so. I contacted the director of the school I worked with, the regional director and went all the way up the chain to Mrs. Saab and Mr. Bastany. With each effort I was met with resistance and in some cases total silence. I was told if you don’t like the system than leave which is exactly what I did. The Choiefat/SABIS is fully aware of the complaints again them. They are fully aware of exactly what they are doing and honestly care little about changing it.
One could hope that they would soon see the light, but the likelihood of the occurring is very slim. The only way to correct the course of Choiefat/SABIS is to rid the administration of the incompetent fools who have no educational backgrounds or degrees from Western Universities. As someone said, the Middle East’s educational systems, including universities, are 20 years behind the rest of the world. If Choiefat/SABIS
wants to succeed in the future they will dramatically change the way in which they operate. However, something tells me that the owners at bleeding the system dry and have little concern about the future. They maybe opening new schools all over the world, but their practice are coming to light and the writing is on the wall. All great evil empires fall eventually. In the case Choiefat/SABIS, it only is a matter of time. When this does happen those who have remained loyal will be left with nothing except their ruined reputations and the trauma and damage they created.

Anyone contemplating putting their children in this school - if you can call it a school would be far better off putting them in a prison.

Having had first hand experience with Choueifat in Bahrain, there is no doubt in my mind that this hell hole is purely about making money from expats, exploiting their teachers and seriously causing emotional harm to children. The two months that my daughter was in this system, was a living nightmare.

I don't know of any school in the world where teachers and parents are not allowed to talk to each other about there concerns.

Every day my daughter came home telling me of the antics that went on in the classroom. Other pupils from within the class teaching lessons as no teacher turned up for class, students handing out detentions, not allowing class mates to go to the toilet and the list goes on and on.

Mr Quin, the principal was never available, and never saw fit to returned phone calls I made, and didn't even have the decency to respond to my letter that clearly outlined my concerns regarding the negligence on the schools behalf to offer a duty of care to their pupils.

One evening whilst talking with my daughter about her day that she, turned to me with absolute fear on her face that she had nothing else to give and weeped her heart out - that enough was enough. She has not stepped a foot back in that school. My daughters grades were more than fine, she is not stupid - what I'm saying is she could cope with the work and there was piles of it! However the environment in the school is dead, no happy faces, teachers stressed out to perform, consequently students being yelled at and being belittled day in day out.

Don't even consider this school!

Hi, I'm a Choueifati tenth-grade student, this is my third year here. I have develloped such an enormous grudge towards this school, that I'm not gonna ignore it. When I leave this Goddamn hellhole, I'm gonna destroy it, I'm gonna destroy Bistani, this whole system... everything! That I guarantee you! Also, I'm trying to convince my mother to take me away from this school. Later, when somebody asks me from which school I have graduated, I don't wanna say Choueifat. I'm not proud of it, but embarassed of it. The last thing I want is to graduate from this based-on-dictatorship school.

This happened in one of the Chouiefat schools. It made me realize that this school is cheap and dangerous.

There was a heavy bookshelf leaning against a plaster wall. on the other side of the wall there were KG children playing. Suddenly the plaster wall collapsed and fell on the children. The teaching assistant, God bless her, held the bookshelf up for as long as she could, allowing some children to crawl out. Sadly, not all the children escaped. 3 or 4 kids were trapped under the bookshelf. it took my entire grade to push the bookshelf off of the children and drag them out. There was so much blood. I couldn't stop crying. The teaching assistant had a broken leg and was in hysterics. She kept screaming, "the children, the children,"
We were on our hands and knees digging through the rubble and the school shirts looking for the missing children. the supervisor came and told us to leave.
why would he tell us to leave when there was one child missing? why?

The school didnt call an ambulance. I dont know why. The ambulance was just down the road. A mere few minutes away. I wish i called them. instead they had a teacher carry the injured babies and put them in their cars and drove them to the nearest hospital.
And what of the victims parents? they were lied to. the school claimed that the children were injured whilest fighting.complete bs. what 4 year old knows how to break bones?
Several people have called adnoc and the ministry of education. but nothing was done. within a few days a new wall was put up and the school acted as if nothing had happened. they swept this entire incident under the rug. Chouiefat is dangerous

dont come to my school its dangerous here. i'm counting down the days till i graduate and leave this hell hole.

This was wrote ten years ago. They still use the same methods ten years ago, today. I’m a student currently in Choueifat in the UAE. I HAVE SCHOOL ON SUNDAY. I have never in my life, in choueifat, ever talked to a teacher who has outright said that they hate the school yet ever year at least 2 or 3 teachers leave?! And another thing is one of the previous teachers came back to visit and one of my classmates asked them if they missed the school. They replied “was I supposed to?”...
