All Work And No Play

I do apologize for my long delay in updating this site with a brand new post, but as some of you know. The exams have recently finished and I'm now enjoying the holidays. Those in their school years will notice that the timetables have recently been changed. 3 times in one week to be exact. Now why so?, is The Mighty Douch attempting to dispose of our free periods? That's one reason. But the truth is, the changes are to make way for an absolutely revolutionary, pointless system of Homework AMS's. Now I know some of you who have left SABIS, or those still in it who still don't know what it means, are asking what are Homework AMS's. During certain lessons they will hand you a paper with some questions on it. You revise those questions and the answers. And during regular AMS's, they give you another one with the exact same questions as the sheet they give you in class. At the end of the year basically, Choueifat just handed over to the students 25 percent of the mark. Now, why is a system of autocracy, well known for ruining lives, suddenly being so generous to us. Rumor's are spreading that after term 1 finals, the majority of the students did so badly that SABIS chose to do this to cover up the cracks in the system before term 2. And frankly that's the one I choose to believe. Now my usual readers will be shocked to know that I am diverting from my usual style, and just once, I will choose to congratulate Choueifat. Because never in its 120 year history has it shown such blatant bravery, more so than any other school. Because they are now literally handing us the passing mark. Thus showing they are now stuck on the road to damnation. Sure it means a little extra work, and free periods are slowly getting cut off for pointless double maths periods. But like I said, they are now on the road to eternal damnation on a huge scale.

Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful New Year. You know SABIS won't.

I don't know if that's true, the HW exam was in the offing since Term one - that's when teachers told us about it.

I'm an ex-Choueifatie who now goes to uni in the States and I enjoy reading your posts every now and then; reminds me of all the reasons why I should be happy that I'm out of that shithole. That stupid school had my entire family believing that I had no future and that I was a failure at life because I was always failing math. Lo and behold, I *did* get into a good uni and am now an honors student, with only a year to go till I graduate. I CANNOT wait to grab my degree and rub it in Mr.G's face.

A degree? Do us all a favor and rub a knife up and down his face too XD!

When I looked at his vile disgusting face I just want 2 vomit my guts out. Choueifat have always cheated and lied anyway...what new there? I blame those loser parents sending their kids there? Do they really belive all that crap..or is it that Choueifat is cheap? Cheap and nasty. Bistany is just a blood sucked who thinks that he is always right. The man should do us all a favour and drop dead.

What madness made them do this shit this time? Teachers have no idea what is in the tests (as usual). Some prick sits somewhere and sets these stupid tests because that is what this evil system does best. test a language by giving students a multiple-choice test !! ;-(( awesome shit !!

can someone help me understand why teachers are not allowed to see any tests ? goon boy and his goons rock their own world .in mine they're shit!

I'm another ex-teacher of the evil Sabis crap that pulls it off to present itself to the world as "education". Think about this:

1. If teachers were important (and truly professional experts) to Sabis, then how the hell can you suggest that a student in Grade 10, for example, can be "trained" to be a "shadow teacher" and "replace" the teacher if s/he is not there? If this were possible, then why bother acknowledging that teachers are any more than subjects (students) of the system?
2. Exactly what is the reason why teachers are not allowed to see any AMS tests either before, or afterward? What inherently sick system separates learning from evaluation of learning? Most teachers still have no clue what type of questions are asked in these dumb tests, so they don't know how to fix any problems. Tests do NOT give an accurate picture of students' performance. TEACHERS ARE NO MORE THAN MEGAPHONES THAT PUKE OUT ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT SOME DUFUS IN ABU DHABI DECIDES IS RELEVANT.
3. What is it with the AQCs who don't understand that knocking on a classroom door and ASKING a teacher to enter is considered to be good manners?
4. I had high school classes reshuffled 4 times in 3 months. Every time I started from the beginning with the dumb teaching materials. Whose brainchild is this?
5. Why do students learn GRAMMAR and not ENGLISH LITERACY? Surely there is a difference?
6. Why do students use the same crappy grammar textbook for 3-4 years in a row? Has anybody heard of "variety"?
7. The technology teachers are allowed to use in the classroom is chalk and a balck board. How exciting can this be? PPT presentations are seen to be evil. Groupwork does not mean 2group works together". It means: someone-checks-that-you-checked-that-the-teacher-checked-that-you-wrote-the-shit-on-the-blackboard.

6. Money, money, money...
7. Testeth them, testeth them, testeth them. We knoweth not why, but it looketh cool!
8. Hitler was a hero. We all know this!
9. Always remembereth - we don't careth for thee, and we simply don't careth for others. We careth only for our exalted selves. Praised be Mickey Mouse!

THIS IS POSTED ON CHOUEIFAT'S WEBSITE
From students

Dear Sir,
Hello! How are you? I am sorry it took me so long to write, but as you can imagine, I have been extremely busy. I naturally want to tell you how I am getting along at Hopkins.
I am sure the majority of Choueifat graduates along the way have told you how worthless their Choueifat education has been to them at university. I am just another graduate to add to that long list...Maha

Anonymous said...

Never knew that Hopkins community college was considered an Ivy League University. Or do you mean the secondary school? Bottomline here is that SABIS has a Horrid reputation. The facts are very clear and one can not deny that. They have a HUGE turn overrate among teachers. They hire mostly young, unqualified puppets that have little to no experience in teaching. Very few have degrees in Education which means they come with little knowledge and are not formally trained. Bottom line, parents who send their kids there are fools and/or know little about quality education. But if a parent is willing to settle than that is their choice.

Anonymous said...

I sometimes wonder if they even understand that their image impacts their students on a global scale. Consider the number of teachers that have negative experience with ISC/SABIS. That each one of these teachers eventually, normally in less that a year, return to their countries of origin. Than consider the number of people who are connected to former SABIS/ISC teachers.

Anonymous said...

No one has ever said SABIS/ISC cares about teachers. No one said SABIS/ISC is concerned about quality education. The one thing which they do care about is $$$$$$. Concerned parents generally place their children in another school after a short time in SABIS/ISC unless they have no other choice. If a parent allows their children to remain in the SABIS/ISC system they either are naive and unknowledgeable about quality education or they just really don’t care about their children’s future and university success.

Dude, you're a moron! I guess all the studying you do doesnt include English!

when you took the testimonial from the site, what maha actually said was "invaluable" not "worthless" as you translated.

invaluable is the opposite of worthless, it means priceless, as in value that is so high it cannot be measured. spend less time making comments on blogs and go read a book or something!

Anonymous said...

Do you seriously think that her education at Chouefiat Served her any good??? Or you expect them to describe their education as "worthless." the original letter used the word "worthless" but such f****** changed it.

This school is great and it offers amazing education. You are just a jeulous opposing school that wants to ruin Choueifats reputation by making parents read these lies and wait for them to shift their children to you. i WONT.
CHOUIEFAT/SABIS IS THE BEST SCHOOL/SYSTEM

"This school is great and it offers amazing education."
Please when making such a claim can you additionally awnser the following questions.
What are the qualifications of Educators in this system?
What are the placement rates among international university systems?
Explain the mythology of instruction which separates the examination processes from the educational processes?
Explain the justification for allowing students, who lack the professional training, experience and university studies, to teach classes? We are not talking about tutoring one on one we are talking about students “teaching” entire classes that normally a teacher would teach?
Explain the rational of removing the classroom discipline from the teachers and shifting it to supervisors?
Explain the rational for an educational system which focus on one type of learning style?
Explain and please share any current known research which supports CHOUIEFAT/SABIS that learning disabilities do not exist?

Want to share the changes from Wikipedia before they changed back.
Traditions
The school has built a tradition of placing students' acceptance letters from the college they attended in their foyers. The last day of secondary education is traditionally marked by Choueifat students on the last day of formal classes in the 12th grade. This last day of classes runs as any other day, as the students are too busy studying to have any field trips or parties. However, the last day is marked by a waterfights, a large number of fire crackers that are generally illegal in most countries, and a visit to Pizza Hut afterwards. There is also a tradition of the graduating class planting a tree on the campus grounds with an accompanying plaque, though it has been heard from some vague sources that this tree is used again the following year so the school can save money[1]. Several such trees with accompanying plaques can be found on the grounds of every Choueifat school.
Student Life Organization
AKA SLO: This organization started as an attempt to have students basically run their school in areas such as academics, school trips, sports and "discipline". Unfortunately, without proper funding from the school's Board of Directors, considered to be stingy and unsympathetic to the student body, it has failed to achieve the goals it has set for itself. School trips to different locations around the cites they are located in do not take place as the SLO constantly fails to organise anything that actually works, and the SLO has fallen back to organizing the inefficient system of make-up exams for the schools' Academic Monitoring System (A.M.S).
Not to render the SLO completely useless, it has shown certain advantages in an area the school defines as "discipline", where some students take it upon themselves to enforce the rules and values the school has given itself. The schools have adopted a system dubbed "Power Prefects" in the past couple years, where certain members of a classroom appointed to report any wrong-doings to the administration, such that their identities are kept secret, only known to the students chosen and certain members of the administration, namely the Director and Head of SLO. This system has only shown to spread discord between the student body, and since the system is only applied to students whose ages range from ten to eighteen years old, it ends up with more physical hurt to certain students than if the system were dropped altogether.
Not all the schools have adopted the "Power Prefect" system, but the ones that have have been considered the most inefficient by different alumni of the schools, in terms of university and college preparation, potential networking, and the maintenance of friendly relations between students who have spent many years in one classroom together.

wow, I almost threw up while laughing when reading that comment. "This school is great and it offers amazing education." Yeah it offers a great education, if your career choice is MORON. And your accusation of us being from other schools trying to elicit students from sabis to our schools, have you read a single advertisement on this site for other schools. I think not.
Secondly, we are all students/teachers who have suffered through that craphole, and let me tell you this: Education is one thing they do NOT offer. If you want child labor, fraud, overpriced textbooks, insensitive administrators, and tests every ten seconds, then SABIS is the place for you.
Yeah, and jealous is spelled with an 'a'.

Anonymous said...

may we also add; offers unskilled, untrained teachers, has a very low rate of teachers to remain after spending anytime there, is administered by a complete madman who can only equal the insanity of Stalin, Hitler, and Saddam

Anonymous said...

Is administered by a complete madman who can only equal the insanity of Stalin, Hitler, and Saddam

And like all megalomaniacs, Choueifat/SABIS will fail because of their basic lack of human decency and poor business practices. As business or even a dictator, there comes a breaking point at which you have abused, mistreated, oppressed, angered, and outraged so many people that the ramifications come back and destroy you. It is only a matter of time, unless of course they change their ways. But that won’t happen because they, just like Stalin, Hitler, and Saddam, fail to see the reality of who they are or what they do.
