The Brainwashing Sessions. (Part 3)

The above is a fairly accurate sketch of Mr G, probably drawn in one of his Advising lessons by a very bored individual, tired of listening to the same things over and over again. Imagine watching that hideous face for one hour straight, with no breaks or discussion. How he can continue to blab on and on about that rubbish is beyond me. EVERY videoconference, he will never fail to mention that Choueifat is in fact, the best school in the world before citing his obscure "friends" as references who agree with him. I recently heard that he actually thinks he's fooling us as well.

"[You know you went to Choueifat if] You wondered if Mr. Germanos really did have friends in the CIA and the FBI." - Choueifat=Hell? Facebook Group
See, Mr G likes to tell us anecdotes about his so called friends and family. These can range from his son who cryed when he fell down the stairs, to his friends in the CIA who were simply "amazed" by the SABIS system. Well they might not be that far from the truth; I mean, I was amazed as well. He tells us about how inefficient and unproductive other schools are. He tells us about how Ivy League and Oxbridge univerities are "hungry" for students like us. Basically, he talks about Choueifat as if it were more than just an insignificant speck-stain on the planet.

Wherever u got that information from for that picture...Its completely wrong...This picture was drawn by my english teacher, who drew Mr. G in one of the teachers meetings. It has nothing to do with any student in any Advising class...My teacher drew this and showed it to us in class, towards the end of the year...we took a picture of it...and it was posted on the "Choeuifat=Hell?" group on Facebook, long ago...Just wanted to correct that information written under that picture...
Thank you!

To be fair to Germanos, he's a bit of an idiot and probably believed people when they told him they worked for the CIA or FBI.

Back in G10 or G11, so we're talking '97 or '98, we were in a mass advising type lesson, he went and took a back page article from Newsweek in which the author talked about how the 'University of Podunk' could be better than an Ivy League school, assuming it suited the student academically and personally - and also if they applied themselves.

So he starts waffling on going on about how this university in Podunk could be so much better, so you must choose correctly and make sure it's suited for you.

Problem: Podunk is an expression which means "anywhere". Not that he had the slightest clue. So as I say, he's a bit of a tool himself whether he realises it or not.

In all honesty the only person in the entire school administration who knew what they were doing was Mrs Abu Esber. She knew every single student, their current status and what potential problems may lie in future.

It's fair to say if it hadn't been for her personally, I wouldn't be half as successful as I am now. She always jumped on my back when I needed it, and steered me in the right direction. No one else in the school did that, and whilst the system prepared me for university - I wouldn't have been there without her guidance. So major props to her.

Couldn't tell how long he's been around, but I started at Choueifat in '94 and he was there when I arrived.

Germanos is old. He taught my uncle in Lebanon way back when (my uncle is grown now with teenage kids of his own) and yes he was mad then too.

Hey, I used to go to Chouifat Abu Dhabi till 98' (up to grade 4) and I remember hating every minute of it. I was a top student and consequently, had no time for friends. I remember those daily exams we had to take. I remember one particular AMS exam where I got so frustrated at everything, I lashed out at one of the dickwad supervisors and started screaming in the hall. Good times. Anyway, I left that year and went to Australia where I was completely shocked at how different the school system was here. We didn't have exams at all here in primary school, and unlike back in Abu Dhabi, I didn't have to study daily - or even at all. Anyway, I was soon accepted into a pretty good high school, made so many good friends and managed to actually develop some social skills and have a great school life. Now I'm in a top Australian university, doing well in my subjects and feeling damn sorry for anyone still stuck in that hellhole, Choueifat. Hehe I also still remember how I would dream of starting an uprising against the school during lunch times. Anyway, its been interesting reading this site, sounds like nothing much has changed. Though I always wondered what the senior level school curriculum looked like.
